Eleven Recruits Join Fire Dept.

Eleven men today were sworn in as members of Camden’s Fire Department. But despite the additions, the city’s force still remains at six men less than full strength, Fire Chief Edward Michalek Sr. noted. New firemen from Camden are John J, Nicholson, 22; Howard P. Murphy, 23; Joseph A, Broccoli, 28; Michael J. Deets, 21; Donald Jankiewicz, 21; Robert Allen, 24; Parris Branch, 24; Joseph Rotchford, 22; James Gallagher, 27; and George Jackson, 29.

Another new member of the force is Ronald Kowalski, 27, of Audubon. The recruits will undergo a six-week training period.
